But there is really much more to this digital offering. John discusses the use of a simple (but very effective) hold-out, which you can purchase from John, or build yourself thanks to the easy to follow instructions which John provides. Once you have this little goodie, a large variety of effects are now possible with but a minimum of practice.

John also takes a few minutes to show us a number of his hand-made props. Those of you who have never seen these true pieces of craftsmanship are in for a real treat. If you already own some of John's work, no worries as you can easily skip to the next chapter thanks to the wonderful technology of the DVD.

I think it is also important to mention the fact that most (if not all) the routines and sleights which John teaches on the disc can be used with candy (e.g, Certs, Lifesavers, Gum, etc) as opposed to cigars and cigarettes. Non-smokers will appreciate this I have no doubt, as it allows you to perform some killer magic in venues which may not allow the use of tobacco products.

Finally, the DVD is produced by the good folks at the Camirand Academy of Magic and the production values are decent. Good visuals for learning and loads of information.

If you have ever considered the idea of pulling several cigars out of an empty change purse, causing cigarettes, candy or pencils to appear and vanish at will, then this is the DVD for you. Great value for the money. Recommended.
