I'm in charge of the late show at FCM every year, and this year I won't be able to attend, as I'll be in Scotland. SO I was wondering if anyone here that is going would be interested in being in charge of the late show. There isn't much involved, just getting things to run smoothly. Anyone interested?

OK I'm morbidly curious. Late shows at regular magic conventions are traditionally performances where the magicans "let their hair down" and perform material that is most likely not suited for those who are easily offended or of an overly sensitive nature.
What wild and crazy stuff goes on at a FCM late show?

I gotta admit, I had the same reaction as Payne to the phrase "late show."

I'm not in FCM but I am a Gospel magician.

Maybe a "late show" on the order we're thinking could include:

demonstrations of Stigmata
staffs to serpents
confession by mind reading
burning bush that talks
a ripoff of Copperfield's onstage impregnation routine, for the immaculate conception
(so who really ripped off whom, I ask?)
20th century bra trick with the special Mormon undergarments

OK, I'm definitely over a line by now.

Yeah, you'd better watch it. I once made a joke about a Gospel Balloon Twisting Act and got banned for a month.

Actually, I think the term you guys are thinking of is Midnight show, or Blue Show. Late shows aren't always vulgar. Depends on the convention, I guess.

Hey Joey, That’s too bad you aren’t able to attend. Last year was a blast! Last year you came with a few guys that were in there teens, are they going?

Yea as Joey said, the late show is a chance for people to perform for others and is a little bit more informal. You get advice from people about your performance and it’s a fun experience.

Matt, hey good to see you! No, they aren't going this year, but I guess I am. My Europe trip got pushed back to the end of the month, so I'm going to make it. Don't you love how things work out? So I take it you're going, Matt?

All of those ideas where very funny, but this one (above), intrigued me. Did David Copperfield do something like that? I never heard of it. Could someone tell me the effect? (The spectators view).
