Paul Wilson's love of the Roayl Road ( I beleive Roy Walton sold him a copy when Paul was a youngster ) coupled with his technical skill with a pack of cards, his L&L set is the set to have.

Saying that a newbie should learn card magic by getting Daryl's Encyclopedia is a bit like saying you should pick up a dictionary to learn English. Daryl's DVDs are a reference resource. They're a valuable part of my library, but I'd never recommend them to somebody who was just starting out.
