I agree with a lot that you have said Jack. It just seemed like you were too eager to make up characters on the spot for the money instead of the art. Note I said seemed. Once again I'll state that sometimes we can come up with a new personna almost on the spot and it can work.
I also find that this can be very risky. It by chance it doen't work, you will lose a lot. I would rather increase my odds than play with them. I am not much of a gambling man. I only gamble when I know I will win (which is not really gambling is it?). Once again, some people can pull it off. Often because of experience. I think it is important though, to let others see other sides. Especially newcomers. This will not only help them, but the art as a whole. IMHO a tried and tested personna is better than an on the spot one. |

I believe I have mispoken. I would never ,ake up a character on the spot. This goes against my entire performance belief structure. When I say that I am willing to create new characters on request, I mean creating them on request, but only with a proper period of time to script and reherse that charatcer. You should never perform anything you haven't scripted and rehersed. If I am 30 minutes till showtime, then a new character is simply out of the question. Give me a month and enough money and I'll even procure a custom costume of your choice. Charatcer work should in no way imply "improvisation", that word is a non existant myth that should never have been conceptualised.

That sounds better. I knew that what you were saying wasn't really what you menant.
