My own book, "By Darkness Influenced".
Shameless plug, I know. But its available, and the stories are good. |

Kotah writes good material. He knows what to put in and what to leave out. That in itself is one of the things that separate the best from the so-so.

As background material for the story teller, or as a new look at things for the Zodiologists out there. Kotah's latest self published book about the Zodiac killer and his infamous 340 cipher code. Each individually prepared with your name printed inside, then decoded to hand printed Zodiac Ciphers. PM me for details and price if you are interested

Card Stories by Ariel Frailich - one of the first "advanced" card books I brought, from a guy who was performing at a local event called the Moss End Steam Fair - a guy who I believe is on this forum!

I'm not sure if this thread is supposed to be reserved for books that are specifically about writing in magic but as a part time writer, I'd highly recommend some classics from "regular writing". My go to recommendation is: "The Story Grid: What Good Editors Know". It may seem counterintuitive to buy a book on editing but the book really contains excellent information on writing fiction in general. Silence of the Labs is used as a running example. I think the ideas can easily be transferred to magic storytelling. My number "on writing" style of book.
Other recommendations would be: "Story Engineering: Mastering the 6 Core Competencies of Successful Writing" "Save the Cat!: The Last Book on Screenwriting You'll Ever Need" "Stein on Writing: A Master Editor of Some of the Most Successful Writers of Our Century Shares His Craft Techniques and Strategies" "Writing The Blockbuster Novel" |
