Tom, the one on the neck looks close to right. A wide angle lens is creating a distortion of scale in the foreground. Kind of like those monster deer in the hunting mags where the guy holds the rack up at arms length to the camera so that it looks like you could string a hammock between them.

Mike, thanks for directing me to your review from Jan. 2005

Now that you've been using them for 8 months any additional insights or observations?

The bottom line is. . . it's not the rings. . . it's what you do with them.

For kicks one day, I performed the Jack Miller Routine w/ Poetic Patter with a set of 5" Adams Rings

It played

Euangelion, even the one on his neck is as wide as his chest. . . I think he is a dwarf.

Sorry Tom, but I ended up selling my ProRings and getting a set of Owens instead. That oxidization problem was just too much for me. I don't know if the fix (Armour All) they posted works or not.

Thanks Mike. How are the Owens rings working out for you?

The Owen rings are a dream. Great look, ring and feel (and a great big price). Hopefully this will be the last set of rings I buy.

I will be introducing Whit Hayden's routine into my show this fall.

Twelve inches. I wanted to use them on stage and thought the twelve inch size might be a little mnore visible.

I just received the 12inch rings from Owen and....

they are beautiful!

The gap is cut out and not pulled apart on the key ring

I'm wondering though if I should have got the 15", though

They are extremely light but very solid and ring like a bell!

I have Ken Brookes set of 9 rings (IO") Also a set of six he used to sell plus Wayne Dobsons set of 5 (These are the same quality as Ken`s)A special set of 5 .5" thick solid steele(Made for strolling Ren work)By Van Dokkum(Very heavy but great for rough outdoor useage)Another set of 5 x 10" Brass with Dokkum locking ring.
Looking at the wear of the Brooks rings (No sign of any useage at all)Purchased around 1967 with the Van Dokkum rings of an equaly high standard.
You get what you pay for, the rings are a feature 5 minet spot in anyones act so if you intend and can afford to invest in the best I would go for the Dokkum.
