In the special features for Shade, it says Stuart Townsend got a specail video that taught him all the moves in Shade. Does anyone know if this video has now been made public or if there is a video similar to that one?

Jason England and Paul Wilson have released a DVD called 'Unreal Work' which covers a few specific moves from Shade and a more Shade-like moves and general gambling effects.

I have it and it's rather good.

You can buy it from Jason direct, search on here for his details.

The video that was filmed for Stuart was a personal teaching video made only for his use on the film. I'm sure he has one of two copies of that video. To be honest, there are many DVD's and videos out there that can teach this material and MORE. I can guarentee you won't be able to get that same teaching video as I'm sure it's under his film contract.

Check out the Unreal Work DVD listed above. Also, you might want to try the work of Martin Nash or Ed Marlo for more gambling work.

Best of luck,

Chris Stolz.

Revolutionary card technique has an entire section on cheating at cards, its one of the better references in my opinion, some other great card mechanics are steve forte and peter duffie.

What Peter Duffie books or videos teaches these card mechanics? And does Steve Forte teach these techniques or is it just shown in his Gambling Protection Series?

OK, time for a big list! This one comes up quite frequently but what the hey.

Videos that SHOW you gambling moves:

Steve Forte - Gambling Protection Series
Simon Lovell - The Art of Cheating at Cards
Darwin Ortiz - On Card Cheating
George Joseph - Cheating Las Vegas
Richard Turner - The Cheat

Videos that teach you gambling moves:

J Wessmiller - Weapons of a Cardshark
Fernando Keops - <cant remember name sorry, it's new!>
Ian Kendal - tops, seconds and bottoms
Sal Piacente also has a new DVD coming out, specifically on cheating at Poker.

These are the ones of the top of my head, there are more, I list this based on what's out there - I don't want to get into the relative merits of 'which one is best' which if you ask me if pointless anyway - you'll learn something from all of them. Do a search here and you'll many a heated debate on that!

Crikey - that is a lot of work!

Paul Wilson or Jason England are best placed to comment on that.

Does anyone know where I can learn the MacMillan shift as demonstrated in shade (it is shown right before they cut to the magic castle scene).

I don't own it but, I think Dan MacMillan teaches it in his "The Gamblers Palm Revisited"? If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Aside from the booklet, there are a couple of places that teach it visually. Jason England teaches it in The Unreal Work DVD with Paul Wilson, and I teach my handling on Mucking Hard Moves made Easy.

Take care, Ian
