I was looking at some of the magic items for sale on eBay this evening and came across Michael Skinners 3-Card Monte for sale. To my shock and amazement, the seller had a graphic image of the packaging including photograps of the gaffs fully exposed! I like to think that none of us would ever be so unwise, but as someone who owns this routine I was so dissapointed that I felt I had to mention it. This type of thing doesn't happen often on eBay does it? (And yes, I was unhappy enough that I sent a note to the seller.)

And you would think the seller, of all people, would want to keep it a secret!!

There are a few certain ebay dealers who are notoriously bad at exposure.

On Ebay, if you search for articles involving "magician" pretty much 90% of it will be The Secrets of David Blaine/Copperfield Exposed!! Now you Too Can be Amazing...(i.e. how to kill a party in one quick trick)...sigh...

Looks like these Ebay-ers really know how to advertise!

Yeah, they can be really revealing can't they? There's this picture of this kettle being sold, and the seller took a picture of it in his underwear...how do I know this? Well, his kettle has a reflective surface... Smile

So, they're 'revealing' in more ways than one! Smile

Cheers,

Logan

P.S. Has the seller of the 3 card monte changed the picture yet?

You're lucky, Logan. In the version of the picture that was forwarded to me, the guy wasn't in his underwear.

*shudder*

Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

Maybe THAT guy is responsible for all the 'revelations' on eBay, no?

Talk about the 'Full Monte', if you know what I mean! Smile

I also sent a note to the seller asking him why he would do that.
I also told him it was not appreciated by the magic fraternity or Mr. Skinner.

How would you know if Mr. Skinner appreciated? Did you hold a seance?

This was not meant to be rude it just struck me as funny.
