Saw these at a well-known UK magic emporium but their unhelpful attitude has led me to seek them elsewhere. It's a nicely printed large format booklet, with photos, about $10/£6: any ideas on where to get them please? Thanks,

Try Wheeler/Tanner Escapes. jnptan@aol.com
No web site for them, they should have what you are looking for. Joe Tanner is the owner.

We sell the one with the blue cover and the one with the brown cover at the museum. Blue one now out of print.

They are fairly easy to find on the used/auction market as well. I picked up the brown cover on eBay a couple of weeks ago, about $15 total. Now I don't have to feel guilty about keeping the real one under glass!

Confusingly, the brown one also has a blue cover. The brown is a heavy cardboard overwrap that can be removed. My understanding is the change was made years ago because some unscrupulous folks were selling the excellent Jacobs reprint as the real deal.

The brown over cover was the second edition, the blue overcover was the first edition. The inside reproduction looks great on both, (the same) and is on much better paper than the original. The Houdini Museum bought out the entire run of both editions. The first edition years ago when Lee Jacobs was alive (we miss him), and the second edition just recenty from the Lee Jacobs estate. The current retail price for this is now $15.00. We also bought all the rights from them to this publication. All future inquiries for this publication should go to:
