Usually. you can use a razor blade to slice the, already sliced, opening
and make it larger.

Opening action, is more closely related to the thickness of the membrane and pliability . There are always minor differences in anything made in nature.

Be very careful when cutting the slit in a Weller type egg. Cut very little to get the proper opening time for the egg. You can not go backwards to slow it down. Remember small cuts as you experiment.
