EntertainmentRarities.com, a Sothebys.com associate is proud to present the chance of a lifetime experience by offering you "The Blackstone Magic Collection." Very few showmen have touched the lives of millions through entertainment as the Blackstone family. During their lives, Harry Blackstone Sr. (1885-1965) and his son Harry Blackstone Jr. (1934-1997) created some of the most spectacular illusions of the past century. From the "Blackstone Floating Light Bulb," to the famous "Zig-Zag Illusion," the Blackstone name became synonymous with the word magic.

Gay Blackstone, the widow of Blackstone Jr. states "It is truly an honor to offer collectors this unique opportunity to own a piece of history. The hand-crafted illusions and ephemera that have mesmerized the world for generations have been a source of great pride for the Blackstone family."

The collection represents two generations of magic spanning more than a century, from the golden age of vaudeville to the digital age of today. Auction items include: the "Schlosser Girl Backpack To Flowers," circa 1923, the "Casadega Cabinet " from the Blackstone Dancing Hanky, a "Merv Taylor Multim in Parvo Illusion," the Bob Mackie-designed "Enchanted Garden," and costumes for Gay Blackstone and the entire production from Broadway of "The Enchanted Garden," to name but a few.

More than 300 lots of magic illusions, costumes, props, posters, original artwork and awards make up this exciting collection of Blackstone History. We hope you enjoy this offering of magic past and present.
