The magic community has lost Mr. Charles Cagle.
Charles died on August 8, this year, after complications secondary to back surgery. The surgery was supposed to be “routine” and the complications and death surprised everyone. he passed away at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He was 70 years old. Charles had toured an Illusion show for years but sold it in the late 60’s in favor of performing smaller Gospel shows. He wrote dynamic gospel oriented scripts for his shows. He was also known for building illusions and magic props.
He has been credited, in the literature, as being one of the inventors of “loopy loops” a rope trick sold by Abbott’s (and Supreme when it existed) and today is often performed by Ron London.
It is a sad loss to our magic community.
