This area along the bayfront just opened May 10th, 2014.
There is high family traffic here and thus far, is busker friendly.

Whilst busking at Seaport Village I was present for the filming of
Assasin's Creed. This was shot at every single place where
magicians busk in downtown San Diego.

Permission was not requested at any of the sites save for the club scene.
They asked for forgiveness when called out a few times. Devin was almost
run over a few times in The Gaslamp.

I would like to introduce you to some of my new friend Devin's work.
I'll post a few more later when time permits.

Devin funds these films by choosing products, services, tourism boards and pitching
the concepts. The companies underwrite the projects if approved. He sometimes just
goes for it and pitches the finished product later as in the first Assasin's Creed.

He basically created his own job with his Canon and a few loyal friends.
Their busker's with a cameras according to them.

He's been all around the world thanks to his believers and ideas.
I was fortunate enough to perform at an event for them later in the evening.

Special thanks to Chris Romwell The Assasin.

What's the name of the new park? Lottery system such as balboa, permit, insurance requirements? It's San Diego, there has to be red tape...

It's simply called the waterfront park where a large parking lot used to sit.
It's run just like the park next to Seaport Village. No permits and as long
as you don't use an amp, you're good.

Lots of traffic since it's so new and flocks of families because
of the water fountains that folks are allowed to wade in.
You can see an entrance to underground parking in this image.

I'm sure it won't be long until it's regulated.. I've been harassed on the pitch that buskers used to work in front of Anthony's when there were no permits, saying I needed insurance.

Kicked out of seaport Villag mall for saying "STUPID"

Told I needed a "vendors license" to work in embarcaderro (SP?)

had to work mornings before other buskers showed up bec I refused to be apart of the lottery scam they are running in Balboa park....

Discovered a pitch by my friend Michael patricks old home in PB, in front of Amanda's the Green Flash... I was in and out before anybody approached me..

The park next to OLD TOWN had a spot that was declared a "Free Speech Zone" (a sign that says free speech zones!?!?)... But apparently busking wasn't "free Speech"

My only point is this: I can't imagine any aspect of san diego being "Busker friendly", and advertising it as such could mean very much disappointment to anybody who doesn't know better.

You can busk in San Diego. There are many spots available at Seaport Village,
a few areas along the boardwalk in the harbor, The Aircraft Carrier Musuem sidewalk,
Star of India Pirate Ship, the new water front park, Ocean Beach, Gaslamp District and La Jolla Coves.

Balboa Park, isn't enforcing permits now and they have never asked me for a business license anywhere in town
as a busker. Were you selling something at the park? Mario can even tell you about folks selling shirts at
La Jolla Cove without a license etc...

This is at Ocean Beach a few days ago and a cop even ordered a few knitted hats to be delivered next weekend.
