On the 19th to 21st of June 2009 Gazzo and Mario Morris will be presenting a three day innovative busking course, suitable for the part time hobbyist to the full time professional. It will be held in Cardiff UK

The course will focus on street performing - with work on the psychology of attracting an audience, entertaining an audience, keeping your audience, opening and closing pitches, hat lines, passing the hat, travelling, life styles and all your questions answered.

Gazzo will be teaching his world famous cups and ball routine and Mario will be teaching how to make it yours and looking at other finale’s - from a strait jacket escape to circus skills. Bring your own props cups tables strait Jacket chains and ideas of a show and both Gazzo and Mario will be at hand to help you develop your own unique show.

Thanks Don but I suggest the World! Anyone attending this course will leave with a show that they can take anywhere. Money spent getting here could easly be retreaved in a short perod that time of year. I mean - hey - if you cant afford it buy a one way ticket and enjoy busking around the UK and Europe for the rest of the summer. If you want to learn to busk all inprove on your show get yourself on this cause

Mario ~ I posted on the other Thread about this but since this one seems more active I'll post here to.

I echo DynaMike's statement. What about those of us grounded here in the States? More to my liking is say like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Maryland.

Come on don't fogrt about us provincial chaps in the states Smile

WOW!!!!!!!

This is an AWESOME opportunity for anyone who can make it!!!!!

What a combination!!!!

For those grousing about it not being in the states I can only say, True enlightenment comes from going to the mountain, and not by asking the mountain to come to you!

This is an opportunity of a lifetime, don't pass it up!

Best,

Looks like about a $1000 for a 7-day round trip ticket to Bristol (closest big town I can tell from Yahoo maps).

Hotels look to start at $50US (36 quid) per night...so that's $300 for the hotel.

Food would probably be around $20 per day so figure another $150

Taxis & Busses...hmmm...dunno. At least to and from airport: Maybe $40?

So, we're up to about $1,500 plus the $274US (200 pounds) for the school.

$1,775...$1,800

Plus all kinds of taxes I'm probably neglecting...

Maybe I could do it for around $2,000?

What do you all think? Is this a reasonable estimate?

I gotta get my numbers together before I approach the wife. Gimme some feedback people!

Am I forgetting something?

Over estimating? (I did check much of this online)

Ahhh!!!! Stress.

As Danny said, go to the mountain. It'll be worth it.

You might be able to bring the mountain to you, or in this case, Gazzo, which I did several years ago (though I've heard he didn't want to teach here anymore). I hosted one of his master classes several years back. It was amazing. (Even though one f***er bounced a check to me for several hundred dollars and a couple other lovely "students" kept trying to pick up my teenage daughter. (Please know, Gazzo had nothing to do with either issue and was a perfect gentleman to my family the entire visit. He's since said, that had he known what was going one, he would have personally escorted these folks to a dark, lonely street and "educated" them some more.))

Either way, it's as an educational experience you can get no where else and from no one else.

You can either buy the ticket and go over, in which case, as Mario has said, you might stay longer and make part of it back. Or, you can put up the money to bring them here, but I almost promise you'll lose money. You'll have a blast, and you'll learn some amazing stuff, but you'll lose money.

I'd suggest just buying the freakin' ticket.

It sounds like a great oportunity,,,good luck for this venture.

BTW Cardiff has its own Airport, accomedation in the area can be got less than $80 a night, Taxi and public transport is 4 times the USA rate.

Not too pleased at umpteen Gazzo clones busking that close to me and for the record if you think your going to make any money on the bottle in Cardiff, think again, Bath just over the Bridge will bring in far better hats !!

All the best Ken.

PS Mario,,,my flea circus cost over twice that ammount !!

Kondini,

I think part of the reason Mario teamed up is to help with making the routine your own. I think the goal is to make street performers and NOT Gazzo clones. That was how I read the original message on Facebook.

I think this is an awesome team effort.

Best,

Cardiff is the Capital of Wales a very beautifull city full of historic interest.
I worked Cardiff being my home city for seven years. The adventage of this city is that it provides a great place to train in. This is my home town and I know it like the back of my hand. Every street person their from street traders to big issue sellers know me. So hear we can provide a safe enviroment in which to trian in. It is also a great city to pull crowds and turn them into an audiance. The Skills developed hear can be put into action in any city with a pith. This cause has been fully thought out in the best interest of every student that attends.
