I'm going to Ottawa for the weekend (Sat 15-Wed 19) and was wondering if anyone pitches up there, or knows of a good show to catch.

The 2 main pitches of Ottawa are the Sparks Street pedestrian mall, and near the indoor/outdoor market. These 2 places are about a 5-7 minute walk from each other.

The mall requires a permit (or at least it did a few years ago). The mall office is located in the first block of the mall itself. The permit used to cost 15.00CDN.

The market pitch is open to all comers. It is a VERY small space (probably the smallest organized pitch I have ever seen), but somehow it still allows for reliable shows.

Those are the 2 main pitches, but if you spend a day walking around downtown Ottawa you will notice MANY other possible pitches, and probably some that are much better than the 2 well known pitches. I know I did.
