Start your own maggot farm (your mom will be pleased) then you will have an abundant, readily available supply of flies as the need arises. Or you could just sneak up on one really slow and quiet then grab it really quick...and try not to squeeze too tight! Of course, you might also ask yourself if it is worth doing, especially since it has been exposed on national television.

Or if you are really slow of hand, just wait for them to land. A long time ago, a Professional Boxer taught me to Jab at the air, and not telegraph a move. I don't catch many in the air anymore, but if they land, they are mine. I catch them release them outside. My wife has quit asking; did you catch it? I rarely miss.
