I have a question for those who perform this wonderful effect:
Do you use the same color silks for all 6 silks or do use use three of one color and three of a different color? Alternatively, does anyone use six completely different colored silks? The Magic is in the knots traveling from one set of three silks to another set of three silks. So, I am wondering if there is any psychological advantage to using any particular color arrangement. Thank you in advance for your replies. |

Well, I am thinking that each set should all have the same color but a different color from the other set. Why you ask? Because too many colors can be a confusing distraction and the same color for all of the silks can be difficult to follow. So, that is my humble opinion on the subject.

I use 3 of one color and 3 of another to separate the groups.

Thank you both for your learned opinions which are much appreciated!
I will do what you propose: 3 of one color and 3 of another. Most likely Red and Blue. Thanks again! |

After much research, I use all six silks of the same color. but in my performance, the knots don't travel!
I don't do the traveling knot effect, I do the sympathetic silks where the silks behave in sympathy with one another. another descriptor might be monkey see... monkey do! Just an alternate viewpoint...

My color selection depends on what other effects I will follow. I often end with a production from the bundled silks,
so the color must blend with the "steal." I have successfully performed with six white silks, but usually red/green.
