I’m looking for your recommendations re magical wallets. I have 3 areas of interest:
(A) a good Himber wallet for switching purposes. Preferably vertical ’jacket’ style wallet approx. 7 x 3.5 inches. (B) a good wallet for ’finding’ a signed card or billet in a sealed envelope inside a zippered compartment (C) a good index wallet for providing x outs, be they billets or cards. Any recommendations, guys? Price isn’t the issue, just quality, dependability, resemblance to a real wallet and durability.

Check with Keith Bennett of KB Magic, he carries a selection of very good quality wallets which are made by a ’genuine’ manufacturer and these include Kaps/Balducci and Himber jacket styles.... excellent to carry as your ’normal’ wallet.

Sounds like you should take a look at the Mind Spy wallet. It’s not on sale until the start of November, but from what I’ve heard it’s worth a look.
Get it from http://www.alakazam.co.uk (hotlist page four). If you get it, let us know what you think of it. Dougie C |

Hi Ian!
A few years ago I was also very interested in purchasing an all around wallet and found the dealers to be most helpful! They explained to me the ins and outs of one versus the other, as well as quality and real world applications. Coupled with the great advice you get from other Magic Cafe magicians you should have no problem! I hope this helps! Sincerely, Steve

I always use a Bkm wallet it’s great, you have your choice of the zippered compartment, then you have the choice of the Mullica style wallet.
L&L carries them. They're nice. donald |

Not to worry. I’ve gained a few pointers from here and other correspondence, and I’ll be able to see quite a few of these wallets in action over the next few weeks, which will help me choose.

I have always used a Mullica. Easy to use and reset. I always thought that a card in a wallet and then in an envelope on top of that was a bit much, just me I’m sure. But in a strolling situation you do not want to have that kind of set up time. With a Mullica you are reset instantly, and you can reset in front of your spectators.

I realize I am coming in a bit late on this discussion, but I think anything Ray Piatt makes is of exceptional quality. Additionally, here is a site in Spain you may want to check out. The quality of the wallet is good and the prices are most reasonable.

Hi there.
I must echo John's comment. I love the Mullica wallet. I seldom go anywhere without it. It always has in it my colour monte, Flash cash, Some odd cards for Card Warp or Hoodwink, and Mark Jennest's Magi card. With this plus a deck of cards and a few Rubber Bands, I have Half my close up act. As John Says It needs no reset, and knocks em dead every time. Cheers Andy

I also have to recommend the Mullica Wallet because of all the reasons already given. It’s probably the most versatile magical item I have ever bought. Definitely worth the money.

As John says, the Mullica wallet is perfect for table hopping. I have also enjoyed "Celebrity Autographs" for the same reason but it is smaller and fits easy in my back pocket without sticking out like the larger Mullica wallet. They are both great for table hoppers.

As I said earlier in the thread I use the BKM wallet it has the best of Kaps/Balducci and a nice twist on the Mullica insert I paid $69.95 thru L&L publishing.

The new site is: kbmagic.com I wrote to Keith about the wallets, and there is a slight delay because of some difficulties with the wallet maker, but they will be back up shortly. I’m in the process of updating my own personal webpage with a section on magic wallets at: http://magicref.tripod.com Doug A. |

Dear Doug,
Your web site is an incredible source of information - well done. I was surprised though that you have not secured it against laymen, considering that you expose so much stuff. Surely all you need do is ask viewers to type in the first & second names of "The Professor" before they can have access? JAT
Warmest regards
