I appreciate the advice. My material has been solid for 40 years for both restaurant and corporate events.

Even with that correction the idea still remains. If they won’t turn to watch you engagement is an issue.

Did one show at a country club during a dinner and I will most definitely advocate against it if a client suggests it. One table had a great time because they were served first, done eating quickly and were able to enjoy majority of the show.
I did a corporate holiday event where the client initially suggested it. I told him it was a very bad idea and thankfully he agreed! Unless they are super adamant about it I hope to never do that again.
