Where can I learn a dice routine?

PLEASE don't say to use the search function because I tried that already.

Any vids or dvd's on this and who are they by.

Thanks for any help...

The Sack's (Sach's?) dice routine is currently offered in various incarnations by Steve Draun, Reed McClintock & Steve Dobson and Bob Sheets, among others. If you wish to do dice stacking, I would recommend going to the School for Scoundrels website, as they have several vidoes available to get you started there,as well as the necessary supplies. You could also do a chink-a-chink with dice, or 2 in the hand, 1 in the pocket routine, as well as myriad other variations. While not a dice trick per se, Andy Nyman's 'Diceman' is a cool trick, and could serve as a segue into or out of a dice routine (and once you know the method, you can easily modify the props to suit your style).

I found several routines in Lewis Ganson's "Routined Manipulations".

"It's the Rules" by Bob Sheets. Easier to perform than the standard stacks dice routine. It's very entertaining. I got the video from the school for scoundrels web site.

Shoot the works by Ed Marlo!

Mike

PS: Milt Kort has tons of dice stuff in his big book "Kort"...also in "Kort is Now In Session" he has a full blown routine that is well worth looking into!

Also "Magic Digest" has and Bruce Elliott's "Classic Secrets of Magic" have the Sac's routine++ and you can find them at most public libraries and used book stores for next to nothing..doesn't mean they don't have a wealth of information. You may be amazed at what some of the "armature" books have to say...

Also as far as the sac's routine I tried to learn from Draun's tape but I had a much easier time with the Elliott book (no rewinding required) you can gain a few presentational tips that you wont find on the videos as well, not that there aren't additional tips on Draun’s video his “pen vanish” on the bonus Ambitious card routine is great!!!
Good luck,
Eric

You can get lots of dice "stuff" from my website.

I would not recommend penguin as they ripoff other magician's tricks without permission and sell them as their own.

In the Art of Close Up Magic (vol.1) by Ganson, there is a routine by Horace Bennett titled "Unfair Shake" this is one of my alltime favorite dice routines. Also, if you can find Irv Weiners "Soft Dice" you'll have one hell of a routine to perform.

Ivory Connection is in reproduction right now, and a lot of stores might be out of it. Mine was backordered and they are remaking the tapes. I want my trick! Smile

Del Rey did had did quite a bit of work on dice-- stuff I haven't seen anywhere else. (Imagine that--Del Rey doing innovative, completely original magic!!!) But alas, Del has passed away. I am not sure if any of his stuff was publsihed or will ever be published. Would be kind of nice, though.
