Heard there is a routine for Houdini's needles that uses Fruit Loops and Dental Floss (making it more family friendly) anyone know the name or who created it?
Check out my effect "Mind Card" http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/7240

I did this about 20 years ago. I used vibe absorbers that were round that you put into tennis rackets. I remember using this routine some in college and after college because I was playing everyday for my College. This where I came up with the idea. I dropped the fruit loops into a cup and the put the dental floss in them and made it look like I mixed them up. The glass had two sides and then I made it look like I swallowed everything and then pulled them from my mouth on the dental floss. Then later I changed to life savers. When I did this routine I ate a life saver after every effect. (I palmed the liver safer off instead of putting them into my mouth. And end I talked about flossing your teeth after eating candy. I then put the floss into my mouth at the same time as palming the vibe absorbers that were tied to the dental floss. Don't know who is doing it now but, that's the way I did it. I hope this helps. If you need help I would be glad to help you.

Oddly I was going to say that I saw someone do the Lifesavers version during an Abbots get together around 91-92.
I thought it was a great idea for any audience.

Dan Sperry Performed this on Americas Got Talent, with a Lifesaver. Probably not the creator but it was a nice performance.

I was watching one of the McBrides on line talks and he did it. He mentioned Geek magic. I have not been able to find it. But I am keen to.
Enjoy your magic,

and let others enjoy it as well!

I think it would be an interesting idea if we use Alpha-Bits Cereals.

Thinking about buying Gustavo Raley's The Loops. Does anyone know what the FL's that come with the trick are made out of? Are they hard, soft or sponge?

Thank You,
Kevin

I have to correct you so others don't think this is the classic effect. What Dan Sperry did was not the Needle Trick with mints. It was Dan Sperry's version of restored mint through neck.

The needle trick is swallowing a number of sewing needles and thread, and pulling them out threaded on the thread in a line with the needles dangling on the thread.

Thanks Bill, that's why I said probably lol, but always good to know the roots. I forgot I posted this, but I remember Dan speaking of such in his Penguin Interview.
