Great ring performance by Chris.The 2nd effect has me stumped. I've seen it performed, but never bothered to ask the name of it.

Just done a little more digging around and it looks like Divorce by Justin Miller.

Or you could make one of those. Its fairly simple and takes a little over an hour.

What is the cost of the tools to make your own, and which tools are necessary?

Depending on what tools you already have it will probably only be a little more than the $20 to buy the ring, and you can make as many as you want.
