The Magic Cafe Forums - Need a fine wire.

There is 2 kinds of Music Wire, Music Wire sold at the local hobby store and hardware store is very stiff and very hard to bend and hold it shape. It comes in short lengths and 3 foot length. The next kind of Music Wire is the kind sometimes sold as hardware stores, but is better to go to a music store that sells pianos. There is many sizes (thicknesses) of music wire, so you will have to see which will work for your purpose. This type comes in a roll or coil of wire.

To make it black you will have to go to a gun store and by "Gun Black", it is a dye for metal. It is a chemical reaction that turns the metal black. Being it heats up during the chemical reaction, some properties of the metal are changed. So don't leave it on very long.

There is medical wire used for medical instruments by doctors. This is only available in the manufacturing market.
