I recently got a whole bunch of elastic IT on ebay really cheap. Problem is, as Gary Darwin might say "It wouldn't pass on radio". Is there anything useful I can do with this, or should I just chuck it all out?

Have a picture, as I have know idea what you purchased, but from your description, why not make rubber bands.

Why are you calling it IT, when from your comment, that is not what you purchased.

Here is the ebay listing with a picture. http://r.ebay.com/xsEAtb
I called it IT simply because that's what it was sold as. It is very fine and elastic, but it's so shiny that it's useless (for everything I know) in anything but the lowest of low light.

It's no good for practicing because now I'm using w***y n***n an the elasticity is nowhere near the same, so I'm hoping to be recommended some effects (if they exist) where you need an elastic thread but that visibility isn't an issue.

Thanks for your response. I cannot think of any tricks with elastic that would be suitable. Maybe Jeff McBrides Rising Card trick, Kundalini Rising, but I have not seen your elastic thread.
