I've been messing with a pencil trick I came up with as a kid, but don't know if it's original or not. can anyone help? You borrow a pencil, and you give it a squeeze. suddenly it stays in your hand, and the spectator can see it as it is happening. you can then take it off, and let them inspect both the hands and pencil. everything is examinable. and if youre really in the mood to perform, it can be done facing the floor. no wires, not gimmicks, completely impromptu, everything examinable. I've seen the pencil in hand with the back of the hand facing the audience and the other hand holding your wrist...that one is more obvious...but this is different. anyone ever seen anything like this before?

I'm sure there's been explorations into this method of "levitation".
I know ive definitely seen the effect before, many times.
But >< I'm sorry, I can't give you the sources

I use to do this in school!

It really is impromptu, but I found out some people just don't have the rigth hand type for doing this when I showed it to some people in my IBM ring.

It really is impromptu and very simple to do.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who did this.

Max Maven has something very similar in one of his lecture notes. I'll see if I can track the title down.
