I once saw Paul Daniels do an effect, in that it looked like the Crazy handcuffs backwards. i.e he had a band in each hand and pushed the two together and they linked ready to do a Crazyman's handcuffs routine.
any idea where this effect would be in print??

There is a handling of this on Dan Harlan's Magic with Rubberbands Vol. 1 Can't remember the name that it goes under though. I don't know if it's the same exact effect but it's a good start. I do it all the time, hope this helps, good luck!

I learned it from dan harlens rubberband magic dvd. He is truly the master of rubberbands. If you really want to learn it without purchasing a dvd, a certain site that everyone hates, (which by the way I think is stupid) sells it as an instant download for about 7 dollars. It is called Quantam Bandits, which is crazy mans handcuffs and the back together routines together. By the way, this site is PENGUIN MAGIC!

great site by the way, and they have great prices too!

The Penguin demo for quantum bandits only shows the unlinking phase which we all know. Are you sure it has the re-linking phase too?

I have a short Quicktime video on my Rubberband store site showing how to link 2 bands together. Wait for it to load. I'll leave it up for a week or two.
Merry Christmas.

Penguin is the Grinck of Christmas, and Mark Fitzgerald is bearing a gift for us all. I'm going to spend a few bucks on some of Mark's yellow star shaped rubber bands to show my apreciation for his kindness. By the way Mark is the inventor of "back together" the move we are all talking about.

Once you start doing it, it almost becomes automatic. I am left handed. I hold my right hand steady. Do the get-ready with the left hand. Hold the left hand below the right but not under it. As the left hand moves up the bands meet by the right finger. Continue moving the left hand up draging the left hand band against the right hand band (this pulls the left hand band back a little and get it out of the way)toward the right thumb starting to make the OK sign with the left hand. You should now be in position to extend the left index finger forward sliding along the left thumbprint and thru the band opining. As you start to open the left thumb and index finger then let go of the pinch from the get-ready. You are now linked.Smile
I will even do this when the spectator is holding the band and I link them. It becomes just an up/down motion with the left hand. Just swing it up, do the move, swing in down a little and take a bow....
