Hello all,
I know I just posted my question in the mentalism area, but thought I might hit 2 sections just in case. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on learning the spoon bend Chappy does On the Watch Steal video? I own Guy Bavli's, (sp) video on spoon bending and it's not there. I also have, "Twisted" by Casino Magic, and that doesn't seem to be it either. Thanks

I havn't seen the Chappy Brazil video, but there are an awful lot of spoon bending techniques on the Patrik Kuffs video.
If you have any interest at all in this area, I suggest you get this video. Also, the book, "Gellerism Revealed" by Ben Harris is a good source of information (if you can find one!). You might also try emailing Ian Rowland as he's also very familier with spoon bending I'm led to believe!

I don't have Chappy's video but I heard that it was metalogic spoon bending that was on it. It's a Stars of Magic manuscript. And it's an awesome effect. I fried two engineers with it last night. The spoon is broken in two then restored.

The spoon bend on the Brazil tape is Dr. Sawa's. You won't find it on any of the popular spoon bending videos, but David Williamson has a great handling of it on his "Dave 2" video.

I'm not sure of the link, but if you're creative with a search engine, I saw a spoon on some science-like materials. It would melt when you placed it in hot liquid. Similar to those necklaces you can buy sometimes at a kiosk in a mall where your name will be in wire and it will stretch out when hot and then reform into your name when cooled. I believe the science-spoon had magical applications as well.

I use 2 spoons in my routine
showing 2 spoons have a spectator take one I use the other for "side bend', then take the spoon from the spectator and do metalogic, or sawa's spoon |

Some week ago I confuse to choose what is the most perfect in metal bending,
Patrik Kuff product (Metal Bending the real work) or Banachek product (psychokinetic silverware). Then I buy BOTH. (I spent my money for comparing this) And my result from comparing them is... Patrik Kuff is the best of the best. Trust me, you can do all tricks when you learn from Patrik Kuff video. Bending or twisting/spiralling metal on your/spectator hand, plastic spoon bending, fork,.. etc. Various method to develop your own routine. There are no moves in the Banachek video that are not covered in the Kuff video. After learning from Kuff I can guess what Banachek doing in his logical show. (thanks to callin, he is the master of comparison) Andy Alviss advice many people to buy the Banachek video because he crash with Patrik Kuff. You can find the topic Andy Alviss vs Patrik Kuff in this forum. I'am just a costumer, I don't know if other tricks copyrighted by someone else. Sorry.

Thanks for the comparison of the videos. I have only seen the Banachek video, and I think it is high quality. Even though more "moves" and "tricks" are taught in the Kuff video, are there just as many subtleties and selling points to make the spoon bend look magical? As magicians, we already know way too many tricks (I think that is a Eugene Burger idea I've pilfered), but if we can perform tricks with all the fine points covered, i.e. presentations, subtleties, fairness, etc, that's what makes the tricks, Magic. |

I've just finished watching Mr. Kuffs video this week...i thought it was awesome. I really don't think he teaches that much material "wrong" and even if he does, there is still so much other good ***** in there.
One more thing, while I have rarely hear anything bad about the Kuff's video (the above being one of the few), I DID read many complaints about the Banachek's one. Such seems to be the view in this thread too. Just to clarify: *****="stuff"
