All rubber band tricks are good for kids buy Dan Harlan's "band shark", or do a seatch of the magic Café for all the answers you can handle.

Double jumping rubber band is also in Mark Wilson Complete Course in Magic, as is the single jumping rubberband.

Well if your patter is for older people, maybe not. But in general yes.

CMH and then give them the rubber bands and have them see if the can figure it out.

Maybe a linking rubber bands where they get the linked bands.

Oh I know double jumping rubberbands, just didn't know the official name. I do single, then double then trap them with a third rubberband. Goes pretty well. Thanks for the other suggestions.

If you want to be a one trick pony, than double jumping rubber bands is fine for you, but if you are asking what tricks work well for kids that is a whole nother question.

With all due respect. If you do rubber band magic and can't make it work for children do us all a big favor and quit. Jeremy I'm sure that does not apply to you, but I wanted make it clear that rubber band magic brings out the big kid in all of us.
Have fun

Yes juggleral I am asking about the "whole other subject". I want to do other things beside double jumping bands. What do you suggest?

Dan Harlan has 4 DVD's that pretty much cover this subject. I suggest you start with his "BAND SHARK" DVD. Rubber bands have been covered over, and over on this forum, so do a search, and also I plan to buy Joe Rindfleisch"s new DVD which has 34 rubber band tricks, when it comes out in July.

Kids seem to like the same rubberband stuff adults do! (rb magic requires very little congnative processing to appreciate, so even a seven year old should be amazed)

I do a routine which consists of:
crazymans handcuffs
2 link/unlinked effects (kenner/ammar)
pinnacle

all ages like it.

The Jumping rubberband is pretty simple trick and has three variations to it. You can even teach kids after ow to do it. One trick that they'll like is the Stargazer. You can see them pretty much amazed when one of the bands forms into a star. Or which ever rubberband shape you wish to use.

The kids (and adults) are wearing wrist bands.(ala Armstrong/yellow or our highschool's prom message....Party Sober)

I do the Lazy Man Handcuffs with one rubber band and one wrist band.

When I do it with "their wrist band" it seems stronger.(In their mind that is)

Just sliding in from the "Show me the money" booth next door.

If you can do a thumb penetration(elastrix), you can always try this variation of mine:

When you are set up to pull it through, rest your index finger underneath to hold in place. let go with yout other hand, and invite someone to hold the end of your thumb. snap the fingers of your other hand, and release the band with your index finger: the band jumps off your thumb

Please let me know if you like it!

I find doing the Found Link with one rubber band and one wristband is very effective. I did it for a few kids at an after school program where I help out. It got a terrific reaction.
I am away and will be so until late July. I will have a chance to read the forums, but I will be pressed for time, and unable to read every thread. If you feel a thread requires my attention, please PM me with a link. Thanks, and have a great summer. :
