I just bought the square, triangle and heart shaped rubberbands and I was wondering if you have any presentations for them.

I'll try to share mine. I follow Alan Wong's Star Gazer routine but my patter is different.

I talk about our wants or wishes in our lifetime. While forming the star with 2 rubberbands, I say "Some of us want to become popular or become a star in our circle of friends or family". Then I go forming the double triangles, and I say "While some of us want love, so sometimes we go into love triangles". Then I form the double star, and I say "And some want to become really popular like a TV star". Then I transform it into a square, pretending it to be a diamond and say "But most of us at first want to become really rich or want riches in life".

I hope you could contribute yours and thanks in advance!

I also have farm animal bands that was given to me. I have cat, dog, rabbit, turtle, duck and pig. A friend of mine, Al, has zoo animal bands.

Star gazer is the name of the marketed effect with a star shaped rubberband. I'd like to find some other shapes as well.

Thank you all for the information. I can continue to give away the rubber band now. It's kind of expensive though. Smile

When you give people the rubber bands also include your business card so they know who to call for fun. You will find in the end that it is cheap advertisement.

Hold it. I don't want to sound like an ignoramous, but I have to ask. Are you people making these shapes through manipulation, or are you getting bands made to look like these various shapes?
I am away and will be so until late July. I will have a chance to read the forums, but I will be pressed for time, and unable to read every thread. If you feel a thread requires my attention, please PM me with a link. Thanks, and have a great summer. :

"stargazer" is a rubberband trick by Alan Wong. It costs about $15, I have found it to be a great introduction and I cary it with me where ever I go. That's kinda sorta what we are talking about.

I'm still confused. Why would anyone want rubber bands shaped in those ways? I can form a star with a rubber band in one hand, and can make many other figures. Is this what you are talking about, or are you talking about using those funny shaped bands the web links seemed to be leading to?

Yahu,
do a search on stargazer in the forum and you'll see a lot of post covering this effect and even video demo of the effect. Here is the description of the effect:
STARGAZER by ALAN WONG This rubber band effect will blow you away. Two regular rubber bands are freely shown. If you wish, you can perform any of the standard penetration effects first. You now make a series of shapes using the two bands. First a five point star, then a triangle, then a triangle inside a second triangle, finally a five-point star inside another five point star, this looks amazing. The fingers are removed so one band simply hangs from the other band. You twang the hanging band and this band VISUALLY changes shape into a five-point star. You will not believe your eyes. The SAME TWO bands are now handed out for examination. One band really is star shaped. Trust me, this gets the most wonderful reaction. Comes complete with extremely clear graphics and instructions, it takes only fifteen minutes to learn the shape twisting sequence. You receive ten specially designed star shaped bands. We can also supply packs of spare bands for those of you who wish to give the occasional band away.

You are a better man than me. I studdied those instructions for about three days. My wife was relieved when I stoped mumbeling under my breath, and paceing the floor.

There is a trick called "plagiarism" Smile
I still can't master the moves and the routine yet. Let alone remember what's next Smile

Is Plagiarism a rubberband effect?

I thought Stargazer was a waste of money, wait till you try it in the real world!

I didn't quite care for the Star Gazer effect so I came up with my own. I got a piece of wood and sanded it to make it look very nice. Dimensions about 5 inches by 5 inches and then hammered small nails into the wood so that when you placed the rubber band around the nails a certain way, it would take the shape of what ever you wanted it to be. (for those who have the trick know what I mean).
