Thank you for the correction. They look almost exactly alike. I contacted Steve who told me that they look alike, but work different. Steve told me that the Morelli trick requires more handeling, so James Fortune enjoy your new ring flight.

I don't get on the Magic Café as often as I would like. The Morelli Ring uses a completely different method than Ringer and different handling. It is not a copy. Viking Magic is a very ethical company and do not carry rip offs. As I mentioned on similar posts, there is no best ring trick. You have to know how you intend to use the prop before you buy one. Chances are you will need several versions of this type of effect. I made Ringer for my own use and it does exactly what I need it to do. My best friend does not use Ringer. He loves Just In Case. We are still best friends.

I wrote this in another thread in this section, but this month's (December) MAGIC Magazine has a nice article by Jim Sisti regarding ring flight, his preference, where to get them, and his handling. He uses it as his closer effect. Those interested may like to read the article.

Ok wel I read Jim's review and it does give insight on the Urban legends of this effect. He goes out and talks about his handling which is bold "I think" considering all the individuals that might lack creativity, But I think I might look into the version he uses. But until then I will stick to ringer. It is fast and subtle...

My vote is for Ringer. I don't have to worry about the safety of the spectator's ring and it works great. All you have to do in screw the ferrel back in place and it's ready to go again.

I saw the Morelli Ring, years ago. I thought it was too big and looked funny. I didn't like the reset, either.

Reset? All you have to do is screw the ferrel back in and it's reset. Morelli is easy to do and is great. You can hand the key ring to the spectator and they have to unscrew it to get the ring off. I had a brief session with Joe Leffler a while back. He hadn't seen the Morelli before but really liked Ringer. When I showed him how Morelli worked, he liked it better. Both however are great.

Paisa23..... I found the link HERE and if you get it, please review, since it seems to be a dead heat between ringer and this one......

People are saying that with the 'Morelli Ring' the spectator can unscrew it to retrieve their ring.

Is this possible with 'Ringer'?

The workings of the two effects do sound similar, but you can't hand out the keyring with Steve Dusheck's 'Ringer'.

I have Ringer and it's excellent - and very high quality. The Morelli Ring (judging only from the photo on the Viking website) doesn't look as nice. It would be interesting to hear from someone who has both to assess the pro's and con's of each.

Thanks Richard.

I too would like to hear the pros and cons.

What I'm looking to do is have the key ring laying on a table at start.
Then do a ring and string routine where the finger ring vanishes.
The idea is to be able to quickly attach the finger ring to the keyring when I pick the keys up.
Possible? Practical?

You are asking two questions. Yes you can work ringer if it is placed on a table, with one move of the hand pick up ringer by the spectators ring, but Jaz I think it is more effective in your back pocket because it is a blind move. You can not let the spectator remove the ring himself or even hold ringer.

Thanks guys. You're the best.
Years ago I missed the opportunity to get 'Ringer'.
Now that it's returned I have that option.

Question 3.
It sounds like it loads very fast.
How many keys would be the maximum before the handling gets slow and rough?

If 'Ringer' is on the table and in view the whole time a few keys may help me with what I want to do. Basically, that's having the ring seem to have traveled among the keys. Maybe after the vanish, I could have them focus on the keys, pick them up adding the finger ring. A few keys could make it seem that the finger ring traveled beneath the keys. Hmmmm. Maybe a leather key tab?

Thanks again. Your input is appreciated.

I keep my house, and car keys on ringer, it is the only key ring I cary. You can cary three or four other keys if you like. With ringer you put the ring on the end, not in between the keys. The ring placement is instant.

...and Ringer come complete with a very nice (& durable) leather key tab

There's a discussion of the Morelli Ring going on here:

Interestingly, here's a comment from that page:

HI,
I have Moreli ring and in the past I used Dushecks ringer the moreli ring is better made and allows the ring to appear bettween several keys so that the spectator has to remove the other keys to get their ring off.

After hearing so many good things about "Ringer," I think I'm going to go for it. I attempted to give Sean Fields "Flight 204" a chance, but gave up. It's a nice idea in theory, but definitely not practical for walk around, and definitely not an impromptu effect by any stretch of the imagination. Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried "RinKey Dinky"?

As a potential buyer in the UK, it is a real nuisance that Steve Dusheck doesn't take credit cards or Paypal. Send currency to the US by any other means is very expensive and inconvenient. Does anyone know if Mr Dusheck's products are available from any dealers ? I'm interested in purchasing at least two of the latest "Ringer" units.
