I heard that the owner's wife died and it went downhill from there. I could be wrong though.

No the owner's wife didn't pass away; it was Wanda Wood, Fred's wife who passed away. Fred was the president of the company but that is not the reason it closed. I can't remember what the particulars were but it had something to do with the company that bought Universal. Universal was bought by Seagrams and Seagrams bought by another company. Anyway, the negotiations regarding contracts were unfair to the company and they decided that it was not in their best interest to remain at the city walk.
I know it's not the most accurate info but it's all I could remember...

Basically their lease was up and the proposed lease for ten years more was too much money.
