I personally wouldn't recommend it... it seems like an accident waiting to happen with either you or one of your audience members bumping into it... I would say keeping it on the floor is a better bet.

With my tray stand, I've never had a problem. I never leave the stand unattended, when the tote is on it. Picking things up off the floor would be really awkward, during the show. The height of the tote and stand make it very easy to see. A 30" table would present a problem, however, which is why I move that out of the way, when a spectator is on the stage. If the performer is running into his stand, he needs to rehearse.
