As I wrote it somewhere else, I like to repeat it also here : Thanks for your good and knowledgeable review! I like "Pi Revelations" although it is exactly what I was expecting, but, of course, I was still hoping that there would be a system behind you could learn, making you completely independent... (hope you understand what I mean). But I am also biased as I perform Vincent Hedan's creation regularly since more than five years. As a mem-deck worker it didn't take long to learn it - it took a bit longer to create my own presentation.
For those who know or do Vincent's creation I would like to point out that you can use his book of course also presenting something very similar to "Pi Revelations". While you cannot reveal any 4-digit PIN (as there are not all in the book), you can do so if you take ANY birthdate (day and month) as a 4-digit PIN (apart 7 dates out of 366 possible dates as owners know...). So, by replacing the PIN by a birth date, you could more or less replicate "Pi Revelations". You could still let a spectator calculate (by adding up several, for you truly unknown numbers) on his own (!) phone a seemingly random number and you tell him where this number is in the book. You do not need your phone in play or use at all. Just the knowledge of Michael Murray's "Cal-Ender" (in his "A Piece Of My Mind", 2014). And as a mindreader Smile you can tell then a spectator also where he finds his birthday in the book although he never told you and although you apparently couldn't know his birthday or any other birthday he was choosing (merely mentally) before. Thank you for watching Jan, and your suggestion with Hedan’s version. I really liked and still like Hedan’s (I use the stackless version), but I find the 2nd phase just too difficult for me to perform, especially under performance pressure. At times if I get lucky and get a “good” set of numbers it is easier, but at times I just feel like I’m getting lost in my own head. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, I understand that. This is why I advised friends of mine not trying out the stackless version. And some who didn’t believe me gave up later after still trying it. But if you know (and really know!) „your“ stack it is not really too difficult. Jan

I completely agree with your tips about having the spectator arrive at their number quicker and with less tedious counting. My plan at the moment is to reveal the page, line, character using TAP, so they will know that I do know exactly where it is but I will guide them as you suggest so they get there quickly. Oh, and I also enjoy when you slip in an oddball comedy reference since most of your review is done very “straight” it always catches me off guard and I cannot help but LOL. |

On May 1, 2021, JanForster wrote: hopefully they'll have an easier time with Pi Max, it greatly simplifies the stack and stackless versions. In Pi Max, memory work has been divided by two. Text pages has been added; they're not part of the main routine but they contain a nice optional bonus. To reveal the birthday, the math has been hugely simplified, and you can reveal any dates (including the 31st of a month, unlike the previous versions), and dates can now be revealed in month/day or day/month format without extra effort. Finally, this version comes with detailed video instructions, on top of the written explanations and the new free online training app. |

Personally I never had a problem with the original stackless version although Pi Max is far easier.

Pi Max is great!! I didn't have the original version but this was easy to learn and the free learning tool makes it a breeze. A solid project from start to finish.
