Magicians in search of the perfect routine or gimmick, reminds me of Shel Silverstein's
Gimme Some Roy, AKA In Search of the Perfect High.
Albert Goshman and others reminded me
the magic is you. Thoughts?

I have to pretty much agree with that, even though it can be a deep concept to better understand. It is YOU that is the most important part of magic, as it is YOU that gives the tour or presentation of whatever change or bend to reality you give. With that, it is your person that you are more so presenting as it sets the table for any demonstration and outcome you bring about. It is your engagement that invites others in and persuades them to spend the time to see what you’re up to. It is certainly all about YOU. And that’s why we all can participate and be successful at some level in this art, it’s because we all get the opportunity to do whatever we do, the way we (YOU) do it. And that is usually of some distinct uniqueness, some larger than others to be sure but I can it in but I can see and appreciate it in someone like Vinny or Doug Conn every bit as much as I can in any of the larger names in the art. And like you all, that I’m up in there somewhere, is good enough for me. Smile

Learning Principles and Deceptions
helped me create. Theater, mime & dance
lessons helped me as much as the latest and greatest.
I have learned much from unknown
magicians as well as watching coin in beer
can at a bar in Tahoe by a well known magician. Working out
of Reno, I had the opportunity to sit in a lot of coin
sessions. I have enjoyed you share here MB.
These days I do more music and am looking
forward to playing with our synagogues orchestra and choir.
