Heads!
Always pick heads!
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

If you are dealing with a pool hustler and it's his coin, assuming he is flipping for the break, choose tails. Almost all of them use a double tailed coin, because they expect you to call heads.

If you are dealing with a person that is not a hustler
then call heads because the way coins are forged the head side will come up more over the long run due to the distrubition of the weight

That only applies to spinning the coin on a table Vinny (where weight will throw it off to one side).

In a flip, the center of mass shifts to account for any differences so as long as its flipping along its axis then you'll get a random result.

The <51% bias that Persi wrote about wasn't due to weight, but legitimacy of the tosses, so it actually would come up more on the side it started on, not heads or tails specifically more... and that was only because some people would perform a fake toss accidently, I saw nothing in his reports that showed a bias when performing a true flip...

Anyway, I just wanted to say that the weight bias is only applied to spinning a coin on a surface, not flipping...

Given a true flip at random (unpracticed) speed/height, it will be 50/50 heads and tails.

If you're up against gaffed coins, it's better to make sure that it is your gaff, and not theirs.

I say to always pick heads because heads is just plain luckier than tails.

It’s 50/50 the first flip. The next one the odds are even.
Even the third flip the odds are even.
But the odds it’s going to be the same as the last two flips is different?

I once saw a flipped coin hit a ceiling fan just right, fly across the room, hit a mirrored wall and drop into someone's drink sitting flush against the wall.

I don't get anywhere near a person with thumb tucked into fist with a coin setting atop.

Just to hear the words "Heads or Tails" makes me remember I have something to do clear across the room.

No deal.

Oh, if you must know, it landed heads in a plastic cup of beer.

A single flip is always a 50/50 with a heads/tails coin regardless of what the 10,000 flips before have done

and I'm with Jerome Bettis and call Teds ...

.. or wait maybe hails.

Heads is luckier! Ha! Ha!
And another thing, it's hardly ever 50-50.

This topic is just to survey H or T preference when given the choice.

What I will do though is flip a coin and see which group wins the toss.

I will mostly be tossing on the last day of April (2006 for anyone viewing this in 2063), I will post the result of my tossing May 1st Smile Smile Smile
