Who are your magical heroes? If you could, assist, sitdown for dinner with, or have mentor you who would it be/have been?
I would have to say that Cardini, Slydini, Vernon, and Robert-Houdan would be at the tops of my list. |

Paul Harris.
What an inspiration he has been to me. I would love to meet the man, he is also the source of my current signature look. _________________ Never argue with a fool. He may be doing the same thing.

Captain Kangaroo, watching his show was what made me believe there was magic. Of course, it did give an odd aversion to ping pong balls.

WOW, a lot of you mentioned ones that I had brain lapsed that I would love to meet/met. I forgot one of my own though who was the one who got me started in magic when I was young. My 4th grade teacher, Mr Moline, who has passed since then.
Thanks for the replies. |

Good thread!
1. Houdini. So much to talk about, especially all his ’debunking’ work. 2. Anneman. Having read every word of every ’Jinx’, I think I’d find him fascinating dinner party company. 3. Al Koran. I never got a chance to see him perform, not even on TV or film. And he invented so many great feature items for mentalists. 4. The Fox sisters. Did they ever realize what it would all lead to... 5. Erdnase. Just so I could ask him what his real name was! _________________ http://www.ian-rowland.com. The most amazing cards in the world and the famous Levitating Cat.

Trust me... this guy tells some great stories! If I have a life half as interesting as John's I'll be very happy indeed. His stories about gamblers are out of this world, his stories about performing are really inspiring and his sense of humor is brilliant. --Andi

My list includes some of the people that have actually taken the time to sit down and try to “teach” me face-to-face. I loved just talking to these guys’s.
Don Bowles Don Allen Monk Watson Karroll Fox Harold Rice Denny Haney Al Cohen Gene Anderson Patrick Page Aldo Colombini The following is a list of folks that I would have loved to talk to, assist, learn from or just hang around with. These are ones whose writings have most influenced me: Roy Benson Bruce Elliott David Hoy J. G. Thompson Jr. Ned Rutledge J.B. Bobo Karl Fulves June Barrows Mussey Harry Lorayne John Scarne Jos Bema Alex Emsley Eddie Joseph Marvin Kaye Ted Annemann Cordina And of course - Harlen Tarbell And the author of the first magic book I ever read - John Northern Hilliard. This guy seemed to be an encyclopedia of knowledge.
