Okay, about flat black:
Is there a way to paint this without it being scratched and scuffed so easily? It seems that you've got to go to satins or gloss coats to get any protection. My flat blacks get scuffed and look ugly! |

What type of paint are you using (ie. oil arcrylic, etc.)

Any spray paint will scratch and chip. I use Kyrlon Ultra Flat Black. It gives very good coverage and is readily available. Cheap paint is just that. It takes longer to dry and three times as much to do the same work.
The only way to better prevent the scratching is to powder coat or use epoxy paint.
