A few months back I was inquiring here of sources for metal tubes. I'll share now the reason was for a novel two-man Stratosphere routine I call DuoSphere. I ended up using plastic tubes from a Rubbermaid water-cooler cup dispenser for the outer tubes. I have what I believe to be a novel form of the gimmick. It is completely silent and foolproof. However you cannot show the inside of the tube as with the commercial models. The angles are very good also. This was filmed from the balcony and there is no flashing. The clear tube is 1/4 in thick acrylic and the bases for the clear tube are pre-finished music-box pedestals. I prefer to have a thick base for the clear tube to diminish the height difference between the two tubes when they are side-by-side on the table.
