Straight sides, you can use cardboard cores from rolls of paper or plastic film. If you know someone that works in a factory that packages in paper or plastic bags ask them about it.

Years ago I made one from glued cardboard stock painted with acrylic. It looked like leather and worked wonderfully until my girlfriend put it into the dishwasher.
