That's a subjective issue... totally an opinion. If the desire were to create suspense through retarding the action; holding back as if it takes prolonged effort, then slower would be good. But when I saw this video, the first thing I thought was to create the impression of suddenly expelling a force from your hands, like a bolt of lightning. The tension can be built up before this. Think of it as the wind-up before the pitch, like a capacitor cycling up before suddenly discharging all its power at once. No less suspense, but with a defined, concentrated, explosive climax.

I like the Quick bending. This just floored me when I saw it. Whats the origins of this effect?

My version can be slowed down...no problem, as Michael said it is a matter of preference, I like it to be quick and somewhat explosive. The end result of passing a totally examinable bent glass out for examination is priceless...the shocked and puzzled look on their faces makes it all worthwhile.
