I'm creating a spandex opening for a step base (underneath a Dekolta Chair). I understand it should be overlapped. Questions...
1) What type should I use? Any specific brands/vendors/sizes? 2) I plan on attaching it to the base from the inside so the top of the base can be completely black. Is this "normal" to do? 3) What's the best way to attach it inside? Simple staples? If so, how do you prevent it from tearing away from the sides? 4) How much overlap is "normal?" I was thinking maybe just a couple inches. Any help is appreciated. Never used this before (clearly) so totally new to it...

I think there is no right answer to this question-- this is the way I do it
CLOTH---Don't know names--- but my store has 2 versions of spandex cheap and expensive-- On this I go with the expensive as it has more strech. Cloth I attach on top--- I roll the edge so you are stapling through 2 layers then I cover the edge with molding. I over lap at least 6 inches. Also when you staple on the cloth don't pull it to hard or it will bow in the middle. |
