I never like mats, so I made this out of an old picture frame. I cut a thin piece of wood the size of the old glass and glued down a layer of 1/8 inch headliner material then a sheet of red felt ontop of that. I love this little pad and it has served me well over the years as it fits right into my briefcase. So, if you have an old frame laying around...

Beautiful mat! I had seen this type from Michael Ammar years ago but his was a table where he screws 3 legs into the bottom. I made a couple myself but did not like the time it took to screw and later unscrew the legs.
I bought 3 black quick connect hose couplings (quarter turn) and they have been in a drawer for about 8 years waiting on my bucketlist "to do" things. I also made one with a 3 sided frame so coins could be dragged off the back into a servante. However it would be hard to beat yours! Thanks. |
