Hello folks,
I have a question. I had a Mendoza built Impaled prop that had these great brakes on them. You would step on the top of them and the post would drop down and lock in place. Then, to release it, you would step on a square of metal that pivoted and would unlock the brake. I would like to get these for another prop I own and can't seem to figure out what they are called, so I am having trouble finding a supplier. You can see a photo of them here on the Impaled prop built by Mendoza: http://www.magicauction.com/Mag_auc/illusion.htm (it's the 9th prop down) Thanks for any info!! Sincerely, David

I have seen something similar to this in a factory I use to work for. They were used for the equipment tables and machines.
May I suggest you contact some machine shops in your area and tool and die shops. They are the companies that make custom tooling for factories. They may be able to lead you in the right direction. |

I think what you are looking for is called a step-on or plunger door holder or door stop. Take a look and see if these fit the bill.

Doug,
You nailed it, thanks!!! I had been searching for the wrong types of stops or brakes and kept coming up with HUGE industrial stuff that was too big for the prop I needed to put them on. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again! Sincerely, David
