Hi! When I was about to build a Twister illusion, what would be the best way to make the top box with the head in it be able to 'twist' around? What would be a good place for buying the hardware for that?
You could take a look here for a picture of this illusion: http://www.magicventures.com/Images/illusionhr/hramaz1.jpg ... Gr, EVI (PS - Already a big thanks for your answer!!!!) |

I used a large Lazy Susan from Grainger. The hole was large enough for a head to fit through.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

Rockler also carries these Lazy Susan bearings in several different sizes, as well.

Oddly enough..
The Lazy Susans you really, really need are in a good banquet/restaurant supply store. You see them in the center of tables in Chinatown that sell dim sum as part of the huge Lazy Susan in the center of the tables. Last time I saw them, I meant to ask the store if they did mail order, just to post it here...but I was in a rush. You can ask around some good restaurant supply places, though...eventually, someone will know what you're talking about. They are EXACTLY what I've seen on some of the more expensive Twisters. |
