I would like to build a combination woodworking shop and magic/train room. I would like to make it two-story with a footprint of about about 17x22 feet, and with the shop on the bottom and the magic/train room above with access via an outside stairway.

Has anyone run across either plans or photos of something similar that you could share with me or point me to?

If you have magic why have trains?

Just curious?

Cheers! Smile

If you'd ever had trains ...you wouldn't have to ask that. LOL

Seriously though... I don't know if the fine detail of a train layout and the sawdust from a workshop are a good combination.

That's why one will be upstairs with an outside entrance and the other downstairs.

Some of the finest folks in the magic business are train goobs - Hank Lee, Bill Schmeelk, Peter White, etc.

BTW, I also have Erector sets...

...and if you've ever had to explain why you do magic, that question sounded the same to us. Smile

If there is a combined ventilation system (and possibly even if not) you will want to consider a VERY good dust collection system. I have a 5' x 16' N Scale layout (presently unused and in a state of needing to be dismantled completely). Dust is the sworn enemy of train layouts.
