I'm with you on this one Lyndel. I certainly would not think of using a line like that. I just do not find it funny. Also, if even one person in that audience is offended, then that is 1 too many. My job is to entertain my audiences and to give solutions to my clients. I do not do this by possibly offending someone with a bad joke.

Thanks Kyle.

I was beginning to think I was the Lone Ranger on the issue! Smile

Not at all. I just would not deliver a line like that. Even if you yourself thought it was funny, youMUST be conscious of your audience. If I offend one person, then that is 1 too many for me. I do not take risks like that and evaluate a lot in my show and what I say and how I say it.

Yes... it's very sexist and not even funny.

But I have found the most unfunniest stuff can be found in the so called "comedy" section of this forum.

As I posted in the above mentioned topic, My wife would show you her list of creds and degrees just before she castrated you!

Well, I just posted in response to the line. A line like that would be okay if it was an audience of people you know, and they understand your sense of humor, but what if "mom" who booked the birthday party is CEO of the local company that hires half the people in your city?
The only stupid question is the one not asked.

I have never used this in a Birthday Show, and nor would I. Go back and check the orignial Topic, and you will see my apologies, and misunderstanding of the meaning of the joke. I work regularly with children throughout the State of WV, and have never offended my clients or thier guest. I rely heavily on repeat gigs.

Thanks

Chaz: I totally understand. =) A lot of times we try a line out do to improvisation and we just must see if it works for us at the time and reevaluate it afterwards.

Never ceases to amaze me. This was posted here to get the ladies response and the majority of the responses come from men.

If I were to use that joke (and I'm not likely to) I would add to the end of it, right after "...so I left her home to do the dishes...she just called me a few minutes ago and assurred me they would be waiting for me in the sink when I got there."
"Now here's the man with the 25 cent hands, that two bit magician..."

My bride will tell you that I'm a wiz at hand washing dishes but I have to admit that I have no clue how to load a dishwasher much less turn it on!
