How is this compared to James Anthony's ultimate vanishing deck?

They are the same style of effect but completely different in both execution and method. With Evaporate you can make the cards vanish in slow motion and make the deck appear from one card.

I hope this helps

It's completely different. it's a self-contained gimmicked card.

Does this mean there is no sleight of hand involved? No palming?

Hopefully Ellusionist soon, when Alakazam has enough stock, we'd be happy to place an order for it.

Just got this a few days ago and have had a chance to play with this. I love the vanishing deck and have Paul Harris, Eliot Gerard, Eoin O’Hare’s, Shin Lim, Nicholas Lawrence,Justin Millers,Mark Mason’s, Christian grace, and so many other approaches to the vanishing deck plot. Henry has a worthy addition to the line up, and can definitely be used in the real world. Some of the routines don’t fit my style, however there is about an hour download that covers a lot of ideas. I have been personally playing with an appearing deck and the few times I’ve performed it have went well. That is not covered on the download but very self explanatory if you have this. The control you have over the gimmick is wonderful as well as not having to ditch the gimmick is a nice touch. It is also great to not have one I worry about breaking in performance. It is a tad bit nacky but only for a few minutes. The gimmick is fun to play with and how it works is truly remarkable (I haven’t seen this concept before) all in all I’m happy with this purchase and will be testing it more for audiences. It has some nice structure and moments of visual and could pair really well in a card set.
