I'm hoping this is the place to get the best information about the Houdini Museum. I remember the museum in Niagara Falls Ontario and was planning a visit. I seem to remember there being a fire there several years ago and since I can't find a listing for it on the Niagara Falls Tourism website I'm starting to wonder if it's even there anymore.

Can anyone give me the latest info?

I'm hoping it's still going strong but I'm worried it's gone.

I believe it's now gone, and has been for at least a couple of years now.

There are many Ontario magicians who read this folder, who may have more timely or accurate information than I though.

I remember reading in Magic or Genni about some of the better items from Niagara Falls being rebuilt and going into a private collection after the fire.

Thanks for the great links Mr. McLean. I've always been a so-so fan of Houdini's but I just got done reading a biography of him and the first thing that popped into my mind was taking a trip over the bridge to the museum. But going through your links I might just end up a full fledged fan.

Although the Houdini museum is now gone in Niagara Falls (and has been for many years),
don't forget about Greg Frewin's Theatre and show.

It's a great show, and food is pretty decent too.
Considering what you would pay for a meal in that area alone, Greg's Dinner/Show package is a great deal.

The Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp, is planning a 'magic day' at the Greg Frewin Theatre on October 14th.

Since this discussion has led this way I'd thought I'd post this here instead of starting a new thread. I took Mr Segal's advice and went to see Greg Frewin's show.

WOW! Who would have thought you could see a show like this in Niagara Falls? It had it all, great illusions, dancing girls, tigers and best of all great magic. The theater is really set up perfect for enjoying a magic show and it was well worth the trip. He has a setup there that you would expect to have to go to Vegas to be able to see live.

Taking that huge Tiger out of the cage worried me for a second I'll have to admit, then found out you can get in the cage with it after the show and have your picture taken!

Just did a sweet road trip across canada, managed to find a magic castle museum in manitoba. THe place had a good little collection of houdini specimins.

Are you talking about fishing in CANADA? I hear we have some great fish too, but I can't catch a dang thing in our lake! Although we apparently have the biggest eels in Canada, right here in Porters Lake! (I'm not going swimming at night...)
