I'm looking for an effect using the stack
with 3 spectators selecting a card with
different ways to reveal their cards. I
can't find my documentation.

Daryl put out a video series on card revelations. That would probably be a great place to start!

One of the best Stebbins routines available was put out by Gene Anderson. Oddly enough, it is called "Gene Anderson's Si Stebbins Card Routine".

It is 5 phases, during which you demonstrate total mastery by:

1) Determine a missing card by a GLANCING at the deck...

2) Determine a missing card by LISTENING to the deck...

3) Determine the number of cards cut by FEELING the wieght...

4) Find any card called for by MEMORIZING the order and naming the location (22 from the top)...

5) Letting the spectator reveal his card in lie/speller fashion (this based on an idea of Nick Trost)...

I have no idea where to find this now, but it was originally a 3.00 manuscript!

Smile I'm not sure I'm following you guys. Perhaps you're both confusing the Si Stebbins with some other stack, perhaps a memorized deck. The Si Stebbins operates on two very simple principles that you can learn in just minutes. While I'm not personally familiar with an entire book on the topic I'm sure the search function of the Café could get you some great references.

While the known Stebbins system uses a factor of three it is interesting that Stebbins himself used a factor of four which he felt superior.

Back to the original question: there's a classic mentalism effect where:
1. spectator 1 picks a card and leaves it on the table without looking at it
2. spectator 2 thinks of a card that he sees in the deck
3. spectator 3 picks a card previously predicted by the magician.
The first card is "read" by the magician using his clairvoyant capacities.
The second card is known by the magician using his telepathy capacities (spectator 2 thinks of his card, and magician receives the mental impression).
The third card was correctly predicted by the magician before being picked.
This whole routine can be performed with a Si Stebbins stack, but is even better with a memorized deck, which can be examined by the audience without any risk of the stack being discovered (because there is no cyclical stack...)
Hope that helps.
Eric.

What is the source for the trick you
described using 3 spectators and 3
revelations? Thanks

Hi MagicPresident
You can find it in Docc Hilford's videotape "Son of Killer Mentalism with Ordinary Cards", distributed by Floraco.
Go to http://www.floraco.com, and check under Docc Hilford.
Good luck.
