I wanted to create a special routine as a present for a big Douglas Adams fan. I've heard of the 13 of spades and the many of diamonds. Is there a card out there somewhere which has 42 pips? (if you don't get it, you're missing out on a life changing book)

If not, do you think it would be possible to make one using the individual stick-on pips? I'm not sure if they would fit.

Try Cards by Martin - he may be able to custom make one for you.

One of my other hobbies is designing stickers.
I made my own deck design last year.
I just designed the stickers and stuck them to the faces and backs of the cards.
you can't really do card manipulation with it but it looks great.
you could design a sticker on your pc so all 42 pips fit , print it and stick it to the face of a card. you can then get the card laminated. I think that would work.
